Bhagwati Gupta (PI)
Bhagwati obtained an M.Sc. degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (India) in 1992 and Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (India) in 1997. His Ph.D. work involved understanding mechanisms of olfactory sense organ formation in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. Subsequently, he joined California Institute of Technology (USA) to pursue post-doctoral research. In 2004, Bhagwati joined McMaster University to start his own laboratory. He has received several scholarships, honors, and awards for his research accomplishments. Outside of the lab he enjoys doing web-based programming and collecting stamps.
